Introduction to Fractions!

Today in Math we were introduced to the concept of FRACTIONS.

Lets Review:

a FRACTION is how we represent a part of a whole

it is made up of a NUMERATOR, which is the top number that tells us how many parts of the whole we have, and a DENOMINATOR, which is the bottom number that tells us how many parts make a whole.

Use the fraction manipulatives to practice working with fractions!

Challenge: Think about where else you might see or use fractions in the real world!
